Beneat The Christmas Tree

Although my daddy said for me to stay in bed,
I had to see what Santa left beneath the Christmas tree.

I should have been asleep, but went to sneak a peek,
At what old Santa left me there beneath the Christmas tree.

Be quiet as a mouse, you'll wake the whole house!
Everyone is sleeping; you know it's Christmas Eve.
Walk on tippy toes and hope nobody knows,
If Santa sees me peeking, he might decide to leave.

The door gave out a squeak; the stairs all seemed to creak,
As I crept to see what lay beneath the Christmas tree.

Imagine my surprise, right before my eyes,
There was Santa putting gifts beneath the Christmas tree!

Be quiet as a mouse, you'll wake the whole house!
Everyone is sleeping; you know it's Christmas Eve.
Walk on tippy toes and hope nobody knows,
If Santa sees me peeking, he might decide to leave.

I rubbed my eyes and blinked. I couldn't even think.
Santa Claus had lots of toys beneath the Christmas tree.

With hearty ho-ho-hos, old Santa rubbed his nose
And disappeared, leaving gifts beneath the Christmas tree.

Be quiet as a mouse, you'll wake the whole house!
Everyone is sleeping; you know it's Christmas Eve.
Walk on tippy toes and hope nobody knows,
If Santa sees me peeking, he might decide to leave.

Although I misbehaved, old Santa Claus forgave,
And left my Christmas gifts there beneath the Christmas tree.

So next year I'll be good, and do just what I should,
I'll wait till dawn to see what's there beneath the Christmas tree.

Ho, ho, ho.
